“The Way To A Man’s Heart Is Through His Stomach”. We’ve all heard this saying before right? Now we won’t go so far as to say that the only way to get a man to love you is to go through his stomach, it is true that most guys love good food, and all the work and thought that has gone into making it.
1) For starters we will begin with the first meal of the day, which is breakfast. Why not make him something truly special to get his day off on the right foot? Think he might like some heart-shaped pancakes? If he’s not into pancakes how about trimming the corners off a piece of toast to replicate the shape of a heart? Even the butter that could accompany this dish could be trimmed into a heart shape. It will go great on those pancakes or toast. Yummy!!!
2) The next meal of the day is lunch. Many men take their lunch from home, and this provides you with a great opportunity to show him that you love him. Why not make him a special lunch meal and pack it with a note saying “I love you”. He will be quite surprised…especially when he is looking for that “same ole, same ole sandwich”.
3) The evening dinner is the last meal of the day for most people. The last meal of the day, but by no means the least romantic. How about having a candlelight dinner with some special scented candles? You could play some romantic soothing music in the background. Be sure that the meal is very special…perhaps his favorite?
4) While snacks can be eaten throughout the day, a romantic snack is very memorable indeed. Did you have a special treat when you started your dating life? How about a delicious ice cream cone and that walk along the lake? Nobody says that you can’t recreate this experience again by “retracing your steps”.
Signs of Affection
We all need to know that people care about us, and men are included in this group. Sure, they may be the “strong, silent type”, but they can still get a teary eye when they watch a sad or romantic movie. To show that special guy that you love him, here are a few ways:
1) You know, a hug says so much. When he least expects it, why not come up from behind and put your arms around him and give him a nice hug. You can whisper “I love you” in his ear. Don’t overdo this mind you…just once in a while so that it will be something really unique and special.
2) Listen to that guy in your life. One of the most basic needs of all human beings is the need to be heard. When he comes home after a tough day at the office he might want to rave and complain a bit. Just sit back an listen to what he has to say, and instead of changing the subject, offer “I’m here” responses such as “Hmmm”, “I see”, or “Oh my”.
3) There are some guys who don’t want to talk when they get home from work. They want to unwind. Give them that time. Let them relax and compose themselves. They will probably talk your ear off once they get a chance to relax a bit, but give them their space when they first come home.
4) Guys (at least quite a few of them) love a good relaxing massage. Are you gifted in giving a massage? Why not unleash this talent? Start off with the back, and run your fingers through his hair. Give him every opportunity to tell you what he likes and what he doesn’t like. What a great way to unwind and prepare for the evening…
Activities With Romance
A lot of guys are very energetic and adventurous. They love to try out new things and test their manliness along the way. Here are some of the things that you can do to show that you love him:
1) Pure and simple, get out of that special “box” you have built around yourself and do something that you would not normally do. Do you hate football? Instead of complaining about the sport, why not join your man on the couch and try, I mean really try, to understand it. Instead of getting that “ugh” look on your face, why not ask them sincere questions. What’s a first down? What is a quarterback? You know the type of questions we are talking about. He will be taken by surprise at first, but since he loves the game, he will love to explain the finer points to you. If he’s not into football you can do a bit of research before hand to determine what questions to ask. He will remember it…trust me…
2) Does your man have chores that he needs to do? Many guys have something that they need to do around the house on a regular basis. Let’s suppose this happens to be taking out the garbage every week. Why not surprise him by taking it out for him? You could say that since he is especially busy this week you thought that you would help him out. Be sure to indicate why…he may think you really enjoy it and you have found you have a new chore around the house.
3) Why not engage in a pillow fight? For most of us a pillow fight brings back memories of our childhood and jumping up and down on the bed. Who says we have to leave this activity behind once we lose our baby teeth and leave home? When you are lying in bed one night, perhaps watching the television, why not just grab your pillow and give him a good wallop? He might be really involved in what he is watching so you had probably better gauge his mood before you do. Who knows? You might have “hit him” at the right time and in the right place, and with his childhood memories reignited, you get yours and get yours good. Let the pillow fight begin!
Compliments Are Great
We all love compliments. We like to hear nice things about our clothes, about our hair, about our jewelry, about our kindness. Here are a few great ways in which you can compliment a guy:
1) Say nice complimentary things about your guy when you are out with others. Tell others how special he is, or how hard he works, or how much he cares. Word will eventually get back to that man of yours, and he will be thrilled that all the good aspects of his character have not gone unnoticed.
2) Is that guy of yours a fancy dresser sort of a guy? Some guys are, and some, well “not so much”. If he is a fancy dresser he will appreciate it when other people notice this fact. Take special notes of a new piece of clothing, or how he has put his style together, and let him know that you notice.
3) What do you like? Is there something that your man does that you really appreciate? Does he do the dishes from time to time? Does he take the baby out for a walk when you are exhausted? Let him know that those little things he does are really appreciated.
4) You could always leave some little romantic notes in places that he will find them. Why not put one on the bathroom mirror for example? He will see it when he gets up in the morning. Why not put one on the steering wheel of his car? He will see it when he drives to work in the morning.
